Fay Jones designed the original building in 1965.  The checkout counter was originally the changing rooms for the men’s clothing store.  As the jewelry store expanded, a gift wrap and register were needed that had better visual control of the store.  The vertical fins with mirror behind were reused and new cabinetry was made to work with the original cabinetry.  The light fixtures are designed to work with the original cabinets while providing bright LED lighting that the original never had.
